We've come a long way since our founder began building houses in the 1960’s. In 1982, Frank Schipper founded Schipper Construction Co with the belief that a client‑centered business approach would build a lasting company. Over nearly four decades, those values have guided us through a long line of award‑winning projects and earned us an extensive base of loyal, repeat clients, and kept us actively involved in the community by supporting local initiatives and building strong relationships with the people we serve.

In 2015, Schipper Construction became an employee‑owned company under an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving our team a real ownership stake — a foundation for accountability, quality, and collective commitment. Since then, that ownership culture has shaped how we work and is central to our company’s identity and vision.

From landmark constructions across Santa Barbara and the Central Coast to projects serving healthcare, arts, education, high-tech clean rooms, commercial interiors, historical renovations, and hospitality, Schipper Construction brings broad industry knowledge, deep experience, and dedication to every build.
